Episode 13: Ned appears to be in a jovial mood

Ned appears to be in a jovial mood because he’s just learned that McDonald’s is selling hamburgers for 67 cents each. He pretends to be nice to me, as the limit on the burgers is only 3 per person. “Come with me in the car,” he says, “so that I can get your 3…you owe me, anyway.” In my foolishness, I decline the offer. Monday, I learn that Ned dragged his whole family through the drive-through for a total of 10 burgers. Later, in the lunch room he says this: “I saved you a burger. You can’t eat it until it’s at least week old. But, if you eat it, I’ll forgive you.” He then adds, “Just kidding. I won’t forgive you, but you better eat it, anyway.”
